Introduction

My name is Matt Thomas and I designed this website to show some of the projects that I have been involved with. Every since my 9th grade electronics class I have been fascinated with computers and technology in general. I recently graduated from Brigham Young University’s (BYU) Marriott School of Management where I received a master's degree in Information Systems.

While studying at BYU I learned a great deal about programming, infrastructure, system design and business practices. The programming that we were taught in class consisted mainly of Java, but I also learned PHP and C++. The programming course was designed so that we developed a skill of being able to figure out how a language or certain functions work. One example of that was when we were asked to use Remote Method Invocation (RMI) in one or our applications. No one in the class had ever used RMI, but our professor asked to use it and didn't show us how. He simply told us to research how to use RMI and implement it.

I have also learned various operating systems which include Windows 2003 Server, Suse Linux, Windows XP, and Mac OS X. In addition to these operating systems I have also had experience installing and using Exchange Server 2003.
